The Kumasi network's water filtration company was founded by a former civil engineer who understood Genesis 1:28 as a professional commission. He was not managing a business — he was exercising redeemed dominion over a domain of creation. The water that came out of the other end of his filtration system was not merely a commercial product. It was an act of stewardship over something that belonged to Another.
"Key verse: Genesis 1:28 (KJV)"
Today, examine your primary professional role and ask: am I exercising the dominion of the exploiter — taking what I can — or the dominion of the steward — giving back more than I take?
The Dominion Mandate was not revoked by the Fall — it was distorted. What was designed as stewardship became exploitation. What was designed to multiply flourishing became a mechanism for concentrating advantage. Every pillar of the framework addresses one domain of creation that redeemed dominion is called to restore.
- Economies extracting from people and earth rather than generating dignity and abundance
- Governance systems dominating populations rather than serving them
- Creation bearing the weight of dominion exercised without accountability to the Creator
Romans 8:19-20: creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed. Redeemed dominion — exercised by the renewed people of God — is creation's hope.
The world exercises dominion in the interest of those with the most power to shape the outcome.
God calls the redeemed to exercise dominion as stewards of what belongs to Another — accountable to a standard that no market or political majority can override.
Psalm 8: You have made them rulers over the works of your hands — you put everything under their feet. The scope is total. The accountability is vertical. Every sphere of creation is entrusted; none is exempt.
"Lord, restore in me the dominion mandate You gave at creation. I am not an owner of what I manage — I am a steward, accountable to You. Let every professional decision I make this week be an act of faithful stewardship rather than self-serving extraction. In Jesus' name, Amen."
